Soooooooo, after surviving the stress and hastle of getting our passports on time and barely catching our plane, we were on our merry way to Russia.
The flight was pleasant despite the lack of any kind of vegetarian or vegan food (epic fail, Austrian Airlines!)
Upon arrival we had to adjust to the colder climate a bit, day temperatures are around 3-4 degrees celcius at the moment.
We took a train to the city center and figured we'd be able to find our hotel on a citymap. How wrong we were!
In the end we just took a cab (every car in Moscow doubles as one by the way) and paid way to much to get to the hotel Razz Ah well, at least we were there. Pizza for dinner at midnight and a good night's sleep were had.
Sunday we decided to act all tourist-y and take lots of lame pictures. We went to the red square, walked by the Kremlin and saw a whole host of beautiful buildings.
In one of the metro stations we stumbled upon some street performers playing quality classical music. Score!
Dinner at an Indian restaurant gave me a taste of what's to come Smile
Yesterday started off slow. We slept late and had a fruity breakfast in bed. We figured we'd see some historical stuff so museums were the choice of the day. The Romanov chambers and the national history museum were greatly enjoyed.
After that coffee and dumpster dived chocolate cake at Starbucks. Dinner at Avocado, which is a strict vegetarian restaurant and is pretty unique in Moscow. Food was delicious: veggie stroganov for her and carrot schnitzel for him.
Lots of tea too! Siked!
